MORNING in OSIDE
Beachside Brunch @ High/Low
Stop by High/Low for a casual brunch with farm-fresh eggs and house-made pastries. The seasonal produce-driven menu is just what you need to kickstart your morning or to wind down after a sun-soaked day at the beach. Grab a seat on the ocean-view patio and enjoy one of the bangin’ cocktails or local beers! We recommend the Salty Dog for gin lovers or the forever classic, and always delicious Bloody Mary made with Locals Only vodka, peppers, tomato, bacon, and celery - yum!
AFTERNOON in OSIDE
Catch Some Waves with Oceanside Surf School
Surfs up, brah! The afternoon is the perfect time to hit the beach. Bring a blanket, a book, some good tunes and take in the sweet scent of salty air. If you are feeling active we recommend catching some waves with a lesson at the Oceanside Surf School with the legendary Matthew Barrys. If surfing isn’t your thing you can take a walk down the quaint New England-style harbor, historic wooden pier and check out the charming bungalow neighborhoods.
Downtown Oceanside is the perfect spot to enjoy all that Oside has to offer. From the beach culture to the outdoor dining scene and more - you can even ride along Oceanside’s 3.5 miles of coastline. If you didn’t bring your own bike, rentals can easily be found at Wheel Fun Rentals, SoCal Bike and Ride O’side!
EVENING IN OSIDE
A Sanctuary on the Beach
Looking for lodging? We recommend staying at the serene Mission Pacific Hotel where you can enjoy stunning architecture, a rooftop bar, and beautiful views of the ocean. At Valle, enjoy locally sourced and creative dishes inspired by the traditional food of Guadalupe Valley all put together by the award-winning Chef Roberto Alcocer.
For the perfect post-dinner treat, step into The Top Gun House as the sun sets for churned ice creams and a selection of homemade desserts.
LATE NIGHT IN OSIDE
Sip the Night Away
Post dinner bevvie anyone? There is no shortage of great places to eat and drink in Oside. All located within a 15-minute walk from the Mission Pacific, you’ll find three bars that have made our staff favorite’s list - the Flying Pig Pub, Bagy Beer, and Frankie’s.
The Flying Pig Pub is known for being a fresh, farm-to-table, scratch house restaurant with a lively atmosphere! They make all pasta in-house and have a daily steak menu and fresh seafood. After you finish up at the Flying Pig we recommend swinging by Bagy Beer for another pint and hitting up Frankie’s cocktail bar on the way home. You won’t regret it!
BEFORE YOU HEAD HOME
Refuel with Revolution Roasters
Don’t forget that cup of joe to help fuel your morning adventures! We recommend Revolution Roasters, locally sourced, woman-owned, and truly awesome. They are known for offering a range of specialty drinks, from single-origin pour-overs to specialty lattes that are flavored with house-made syrups. Once you are fully caffeinated and fueled up you can enjoy a self-guided mural walking tour to see the collection of colorful street art scattered throughout the city.
Eclectic Shopping @ OZONE
You can’t leave town without checking out some of the eclectic boutiques and local craft stores. OZONE, one of our personal favorites, is attached to the Mission Pacific, making it the perfect last stop before you head home. #sad
